We ask that all participants be respectful and kind towards each other. Any harassment, hateful speech and behavior, or sparking arguments will not be tolerated, and will lead to immediate disqualification/removal from the project.

This zine is open to all ages 13 and above, and as such, no NSFW content or discussion will be allowed, whether it be in applications, submissions, or our Discord server.

Any use of generative AI or NFTs in applications or final works will lead to instant disqualification/removal from the project.

All contributors’ works must be created originally for this project, within the project’s timeframe, and kept within the Discord server until the zine’s full official release, so we ask that you do not share your own or anyone else’s work outside of the project’s server.

When it comes to depictions of violence, gore, or other potentially sensitive content, we ask that contributors keep things to a level seen in the original Puella Magi Madoka Magica series.

Page artists will be expected to create 1 original page, spread, or 1-4 page comic focusing on a romantic, platonic, familial or other pairing of characters from Madoka Magica and its many spinoffs and side stories.

Traditional artists will be expected to scan or photograph their works at high quality, according to the page artist guidelines above. No photo glares, shadows, or irregular lighting and cropping will be allowed.

Art pieces must be fully rendered with a background, and submitted in RGB color profile, 300 DPI/PPI, in A4 format.

Writers will be expected to create 1 fully-contained fanfiction work up to 3k words in length, which must then be titled and submitted as a document.

Applicants must be 13+ or turning 13 while applications are still open.

Failure to follow the general rules of our zine within the application form will result in automatic rejection.

Social media accounts such as Twitter, Tumblr, etc. will not be accepted as portfolios unless they contain ONLY your own creative works, otherwise your application will be automatically disqualified. If possible, please instead use an image sharing service, Google Drive/Documents, a personal website, or other methods.

Make sure all sample piece links are accessible. For those using Google Drive and Google Documents, make sure your files are set to visible for anyone with the link (you may test this by logging out of your account and trying to view the link).

Madoka Magica and spinoff fanwork samples are not required, but encouraged.

Applicants may apply for both roles, by filling in a form for each, but will only be accepted for one position.

Applying artists will be required to provide 3 of their best completed works as samples. We ask that at least one of these samples features a background.

Additionally, we ask that artists provide a portfolio with at least 5 of their best works (your 3 samples may also appear in your portfolio).

Applications will be based on the understanding of composition, anatomy, color and lighting shown in your provided works.

Applying writers will be required to provide 3 of their best written works of at least around 1k words in length. Excerpts are permitted but at least 1 sample should be a full, self-contained work.

Additionally, we ask that writers provide a portfolio with at least 5 of their best written works, all at least around 1k words in length (Your 3 samples may also appear in your portfolio).

Applications will be based on the understanding of narrative execution, pacing, characterization, grammar and clarity shown in your provided works.
